At cvitae, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This policy describes how we collect, use, and process your data.
1. Information We Collect
To provide our CV builder services, we collect information you provide directly, including:
- Account profile details (Full name, profile photo, email address).
- The contents of CVs you create (employment history, education, skills, references, etc.).
- Payment details processed securely through our gateway partner (Payfast). We do not store raw card numbers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to operate, maintain, and improve the cvitae platform, specifically to:
- Authenticate your access and protect your account.
- Allow you to construct, edit, and render your CVs.
- Support secure public CV hosting and our privacy-respecting contact-reveal requests.
- Process billing transactions for premium subscriptions.
3. Data Sharing and Security
We do not sell your personal data. We only share information with trusted third-party services necessary for operation (Supabase for cloud storage and database, Resend for email notifications, and Payfast for credit card billing). Your contact details are hidden on public CVs by default and are only shared with recruiters after you explicitly approve their request.
4. Your Rights and Deletion
You can view, edit, or delete any of your CVs or profile details directly from the editor dashboard. If you close your account, your data is immediately and permanently purged from our primary database servers.
