Terms of Service

1. Account registration

To use certain features, you'll need an account, created with your email address or your Google sign-in. You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for making sure the information you give us is accurate and up to date.

2. Billing & subscriptions

cvitae offers a free, ad-supported tier and a paid Pro subscription at R59.99 per month, billed in South African Rand regardless of where you're signing up from.

• Payments: Pro is billed monthly or annually on a recurring basis through our partner, Paystack, which accepts cards issued anywhere in the world.
• Cancellation: you can cancel anytime, with no cancellation fee. Cancelling stops all future billing immediately — you won't be charged again. You keep full Pro access until the end of the billing cycle you've already paid for, and your account then reverts to the free tier.
• Refunds: we don't offer refunds for subscription fees already paid, since Pro runs on fixed billing cycles (monthly or annual) rather than metered or pay-as-you-go usage — cancelling simply stops the next charge rather than reversing the current one. This applies regardless of when in the billing cycle you cancel, except where a mandatory consumer-protection law in your country requires otherwise.

3. User content and licence

You keep ownership of everything you upload or create on cvitae: your text, documents, and photos ("User Content"). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host and process that content only as needed to provide the service, such as displaying your public CV link.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to upload anything illegal, defamatory, or misleading, including false qualifications or fraudulent details on your CV. We may suspend or remove accounts that abuse our platform or break these rules.
